Day 19: Five Minute Friday - LOOK

Today I am linking up with Lisa-Jo's Five Minute Friday.

Five Minute Friday1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
OK, are you ready? Won’t you please give me your best five minutes on: LOOK

I immediately thought “Look and see My goodness”.

Lately I have been busy. When my children come home from school there are times when I am concerned about the things on my to-do list that I have not gotten done.  The kids want my attention but I am distracted. They want me to look; they want to show me something. I try to focus on them but I am focused on other things. My mind races with worthless things. That has to stop. I have to stop what I am doing and look, not just look but see. I need to stop looking at my phone, my computer, or tablet and really pay close attention to them. They are worth it.

Just like with my children I often do not stop long enough to see all that God has for me. Do I stop long enough to see His Grace? This month I am but what about the other things is he trying to show me that I am missing in my busyness?  I may look up from what I am doing but so I really see it?

What my children need and what God has for me shouldn't be treating so casually but sometimes it is. It breaks my heart to think about it. I am inspired to change, to pay attention. To not only look but see.
