Memory Verses on Using Kind Words

keep-calm_edited-2.jpg

It takes two people to have an argument.

We have all felt that nudge to speak a little louder or be a tad bit meaner to prove our point in the middle of a disagreement. Screaming and saying hurtful things never accomplishes anything positive. Angry words make more anger, adding fuel to a kindling flame. Nasty words inflict wounds and only make things worse. There is never a winner. Answering gently and using kind words, however difficult it may be, soothes and diffuses when tones start to shift and voices begin to rise.

It's hard to do but it works!

Forgiveness is at the integral part of our Christian walk. Understanding that we are forgiven because of the price Jesus paid makes it a little easier to keep anger at bay. Replying softly and forgiving one another is a hard thing to do but it's possible by grace.

Verses for this month:

  • Scripture says, “When you are angry, do not sin.” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.Don’t give the devil a chance.Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIrV)
