The plan was to get up early this morning, to get a few things done. A little one crawled into my bed instead - just as the alarm was about to go off. As if I ever need an excuse to stay under warm covers ...this was a good one.
I snuggled and hit snooze.
I snuggled more and eventually turned the alarm off.
Not much later another little one, sensing her sister missing from her room, wondering in and snuggled up with my husband on the other side of our king size bed.
I felt like a mommy sandwich. The "bread" on each side, smothered with love. The warmth I felt didn't just come from the blankets but from sacrifice of time and care for one another.
I want to hold on tight to these moments, remember them.
I told my daughter "Don't grow too big to snuggle." She said "I won't." I hope she doesn't...
