Memory Verses on Kindness

All of us are beginning to get a little antsy. The end of school year is approaching and everyone, even myself, are eagerly anticipating it. We are ready for a different routine and a schedule less regimented with opportunities to be spontaneous.

As we look forward to summer vacation, we seem to be a little less patient with one another. Bickering and tit for tat has become a little too common around here.

It is not always easy to be kind to each other, especially when kindness is not shown to us.

My kids have such different personalities...one child shoves when they don't get their way. Another little one of mine raises their voice and shakes their head while speaking to emphasis their misguided point while the other plays the victim and insists the whole world is against them hoping to manipulate. I am no better at times. When I am not happy with husband I want to withdraw and take a stance of pride. When my friends don't see things my way, I feel rejected. I have to try hard not to slowly nurture a grudge and make judgements about their choices.

I am ready to see some changes in me and my family.

Honoring one another as the Bible instructs will take renewing our minds and breaking out of old habits. It will requires us to slow down, take a deep breath and vent to our Abba Father who is waiting patiently to give us the strength to do what is right.

Memory verses on kindness:

  • Make sure that nobody pays back one wrong act with another. Always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:15 (NIrV)
  • “But love your enemies. Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then you will receive a lot in return. And you will be sons of the Most High God. He is kind to people who are evil and are not thankful.Luke 6:35 (NIrV)
  • You are God’s chosen people. You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes. Don’t be proud. Be gentle and patient. Colossians 3:12 (NIrV)
  • Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves. Romans 12:10 (NIrV)
