Worship Songs that Prepare my Heart for Prayer

Worship-Songs.jpg

The way I "spend time with God" changes. Some times I read through a yearly devotional, do the daily homework of a Bible study I am doing with others, or I write. A few years ago, thanks to the suggestion of a friend, I started listening to one or two worship songs before my time of study and prayer. It's a great way to push away the groggy and turn my mind and my heart towards God.

Here is a list of my favorite tracks right now:

 Adie

  • All I Need is You
  • Only You

Ellie Holcomb

  • As Sure as the Sun
  • I Place my Hope
  • He Will Give the Weary Strength

All Sons & Daughters

  • Reason to Sing
  • All Praise to You

Hillsong - No Other Name

When I am not sure what I want to start the day with I listen to the Pandora stations for: Hillsong Young and Free, Jesus Culture, and Phil Wickman, and Bethel Music.

There are also times that I like to have a little music in the background as I study or pray. My go-to:  Love Songs by Rebecca Jackson and John Wineglass

I'd love to hear what songs prepare your heart for prayer.
