Stress is a very real issue for kids these days. Modern day families tend to be over scheduled and as a result can become disconnected and burnt out. Even if a family has figured out how to slow down and live life on purpose, there can still be pressure from schools, sports, or friends to perform. I know for my family, the month of May is crazy. It's our busiest sports season, plans for camp are being made, and end of year school activities keep us on the go.
Here are a handful of scriptures to remind us that God provides us with the rest we need. When we talk to him and pray about our concerns he will soothe our souls with his peace.
Memory Verses on rest for your kids and your family:
- I have told you these things, so that you may have peace because of me. In this world you may have trouble. But cheer up! I have won the battle over the world. John 16:33 (NIrV)
- Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
- Don’t worry about anything. Instead, tell God about everything. Ask and pray. Give thanks to him. Then God’s peace will watch over your hearts and your minds because you belong to Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7a (NIrV)
- I will find my rest in God alone. He is the One who gives me hope. Psalm 62:5 (NIrV)
