This Month: Learning What the Bible Says About Repentance

This month I am focusing on the topic of REPENTANCE with my children.

I am so grateful for a loving Father who loves me unconditionally and forgives me. Repentance is never fun but without it, we can’t thrive spiritually. It’s the way we draw close to a God who relentlessly pursues our heart.

If we go to Him and admit our sins, He won’t let us down. He will forgive them and wipe the slate clean. (1 John 1:9) It’s no use trying to hide our sins, He knows everything and still loves us. There is success and mercy waiting for us when we confess our sins. (Proverbs 28:13) Just like the clouds are swept through the sky, and like the morning mist is burned off by the afternoon sun, God will remove our sins as if they never happened. There will be no trace of them. All this, through a simple step of returning to Him with an open and honest heart. (Isaiah 44:22) He has saved us, redeemed us, and washed our sins away, not because of the good things we have done but because of His mercy. (Titus 3:5) I don’t know about you, but that takes the pressure off me to get everything right.
