Welcome to My Media Page

When my husband and I first got married, we talked about what we wanted our life together to look like. However, years later we found ourselves in the rut of just surviving, barely getting through the week.

Family life looked nothing like we imagined. So we set out to create a family mission statement. We quickly realized that a polished paragraph on a piece of paper wasn’t enough to change our family. Something was missing.

Then I discovered culture!

The same principles that cause an organization’s culture to flourish and business to succeed have helped our family thrive.

That’s why I am passionate about creating content and resources that walk families through imagining, planning, and building their family culture.

Here are a few topics I love to talk about!

Customized topics available.

  • Why Family Culture Matters and How You Can Start Cultivating Yours

    • Just as in business, family culture refers to how a family relates to one another, works together, and achieves goals. Family culture is the DNA of a family. It’s the what of, “That’s just the way we do things.” Just like a fingerprint, it's what makes your family unique.

  • How a Family Retreat will Benefit Your Family

    • A few years back we decided to harness the power of 360 peer reviews used in the organizations to see what they could do for our family. Since starting it three years ago, we have seen a tremendous amount of growth. We hold these “annual reviews” each year during our family retreat.

  • One Word for Your Family

    • The contributing factors of family culture are vision, values and beliefs, practices such as systems and language, habits, and people. However, the essence of your family can be fine tuned into One Word, ultimately helping you and your family members stay on track.

  • The Benefits of a Family Manifesto

    • A manifesto goes beyond a mission statement. It expresses the heart and spirit of what you believe and value in an imaginative and inspiring way. It is that includes passions, practices, and language that leaves a legacy. It’s your family culture guide.
